Welcome to Stoney Acres Retrievers in Northern WI.
Here are things to consider when researching breeders.
1. An ethical breeder follows the Golden Retriever Standard of America for health clearances (minimum OFA hips, elbows, heart and eyes), and genetic testing. And is transparent about health clearances (doesn't say they have them but can't produce them).
2. Are the parents AKC registered and will you have the ability to register your puppy
3. Does the breeder allow visits to see the parents and/or puppies so you can assess how the puppies are being raised.
4. Quality of the parents for temperment, longevity, health etc
5. Does the Breeder have testimonials from other buyers.
6. Will the Breeder supply weekly updates and pictures as the puppies are raised.
7. Will the Breeder speak to you individually, on the phone or in person if you have questions.
